Black 13.5 inch low Profile RIGID M-LOK Picatinny Rail from Griffin Armament.

Description

Griffin Armament® Low-Pro rails are a slim, low profile, ultralight, yet rigid M-LOK rail. Design objectives of this rail were to provide a slim, ultralight rail, with increased rigidity over similar weight and profile current market options. A custom extrusion provides significant internal reinforcement to reduce flex when gripping the carbine firmly in the shoulder pocket. Understanding the importance of low light targeting, these reinforcements provide rigid mounting for IR laser aimers ensuring minimal POI shift when torque is applied to fore-grip type accessories, or when loads are applied to the rail (shooting off barricades, loaded bipods etc). Internal testing showed 70% less POI shift with laser aimers versus competing "slim rails". Carefully positioned slots in the rail allow for rapid cooling when running the carbine fast while maintaining rigidity.

The Low-Pro rail features a close tolerance, heavy-duty, 17-4 stainless steel H900 heat treated barrel nut, which can be installed with the included Griffin GI Armorers Wrench.  The rail is very user friendly to install. The slip fitted clamp design doesn't requiring any shims or special timing methods. The clamp boss in the rear section of the rail is low profile and ergonomically pleasing for relaxed posture carry at static positions. Flat head T15 torx screws should be tightened to 25/in pounds. The barrel nut should be tightened to ~55ft/lbs.  

M-LOK slots at the 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions allow for mounting of your favorite M-LOK accessories.

    Nice rail super lightweight and sturdy. No point of impact shift on my laser would definitely order again.

    i’ve used a bunch of different brands and these are some of the best ones yet,super easy to install,no indexing for screws or gas tubes,and they look great too

    Major Improvement

    I have the original version of this handguard and I have to say that this new one is a massive improvement. The barrel nut on the old model had to be timed using a set of shims that came with it, and this involves a ton of guess work with torquing and un-torquing the nut repeatedly to add or remove shims. The new design just has you tighten the handguard to the barrel nut using four included screws.

    A couple minor gripes I had: There’s nothing external to really prevent rotation of the handguard besides just the friction against the barrel nut. I’m not saying it ‘will’ come loose and rotate, it’s just something to consider. I also wish the included wrench for adjusting the barrel nut had a more conventional 1/2” or 3/8” socket, as I was unable to use my torque wrench on it.

    Rigid rail gen 2

    Well made and easier to install compared to the gen 1 but that’s about the only thing I like about it.

    The gen 1 didn’t have that awkward shaped rib for screws at the 6 o’clock position near the receiver. It felt good in the hand.
    Now that it has the rib is there this rail has the same awkward geometry in the hand as that other high end brand, but is more awkward when shooting off barricades.

    Eliminate the rib and reincorporate the sling swivels and this is a 5 star product.

    Damn Good handrail

    So i felt this rail on one of their rifles a few months ago and had to have one for my next build. Well i can tell you this is my favorite hand guard by far. It feels very good in my hand, is slim with a full rail on top and all the room to add more. easy to install and the add tools is always a bonus. Now why only 4 stars? well mine was NOT milled for the two QD screws near the base. My guess was it just missed the machine so it what it is. Other than that gripe I will be getting more of these rails for future builds.
