Description

Griffin rail kits feature Low-Pro RIGID™ rails, a slim, low profile, ultralight, yet rigid M-LOK rail. Design objectives of this rail were to provide a slim, ultralight rail, with increased rigidity over similar weight and profile current market options. A custom extrusion provides significant internal reinforcement to reduce flex when gripping the carbine firmly in the shoulder pocket. Understanding the importance of low light targeting, these reinforcements provide rigid mounting for IR laser aimers ensuring minimal POI shift when torque is applied to fore-grip type accessories, or when loads are applied to the rail (shooting off barricades, loaded bipods etc). Internal testing showed 70% less POI shift with laser aimers versus competing "slim rails". Carefully positioned slots in the rail allow for rapid cooling when running the carbine fast while maintaining rigidity.

The Low-Pro RIGID™ rail features a lightweight 7075 T6 Aluminum barrel nut, which can be installed with any car stock wrench or by using the included Griffin Armorers Wrench. Included shims allow barrel nut timing and keep the rear section of the rail low profile and ergonomically pleasing for relaxed posture carry at static positions. The included 17-4 stainless steel anti rotation QD sling swivel sockets install through the rail using the included QD sling swivel and into the nut, ensuring that the rail is kept as low-profile as possible. In the same way, flat socket head cap screws are used in keeping with the sleek design objectives.

M-LOK slots at the 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions allow for mounting of the included Griffin RAIL SHIELD™ panels. The Included 4 piece RAIL SHIELD™ kit provides a 4.6" long surface on 3 sides of the rail for a full hand grip on the panels, ensuring that a hot rail from excessive firing does not burn the hand of the user. The angled geometry on the optional bottom piece is located as rearward as possible ensuring that torque can be applied to grip the rail while keeping the hand entirely on the RAIL SHIELD™ kit.

The included Primo Gas Block™ provides a 416R crucible alloy low profile block that can be either set screwed in place easily by the user using the included cup point fasteners, or more securely installed by drilling the barrel and using the included and optional spline pin.

A high quality, low profile rail

Published by Peter on 6th Apr 2018

This is a very high quality rail. Bought it for a build with a 14.5’0M pinned barrel and it fits very nicely. I like the simple attach/detach method using 4 screws for access to the gas block and barrel for cleaning/maintenance. The rail itself has a good finish and no burrs on the edges. It is also very low profile (just big enough to fit over a barrel nut) and has an aesthetically simple and pleasing look (if that’0Is what you’0Ire after.) The included hand guards are a nice touch and have held up well so far, and if you’0Ive never used M-LOK I highly recommend it. I bought this kit with the gas block to ensure clearance with the rail and the gas block has a nice finish and good fit on the barrel. Over all I’0Im very pleased with this rail, and if you want a sturdy, low profile, lightweight, quality rail, I can definitely recommend this one.

    New AR build

Published by Jonathan on 15th Sep 2016

Excellent design. Appreciate how the rail directly attaches to the barrel nut; feels very solid. This is also the most frustrating aspect during install as timing has to be perfect. Would NOT recommend using the supplied GI wrench as it's easy to slip off and strip the teeth from the barrel nut, use a pin style instead. Would absolutely use again for my next build.

Would like to see an install video posted for new builders, tech recommends to start with 2 .002 shims.
