    not dark green, but..

Published by BCR on 17th Jul 2024

i have dealt with many slings, training, deployed and combat. my time as a Marine Infantryman retired 20 yrs in 2014. I can say we have tried many different options with what we had, from 550 cord, to duct tape, to 3 point and 2 point and 1 point slings. This sling is what you WANT! it switched from 2 to 1 in seconds. The buckles are made of STEEL! the webbing WILL NOT BREAK . i would put my life saying it would hold me hanging from a wall. PS i had to do that in real life with a green old school web..lower me off a 12 foot wall with my green web sling in combat, chasing a muj. after that in 07, i compare all slings to it. and this with the ability to creat an instant loop sling ?.. yeah this will hold. no regrets. i bet this will hold 220 lbs lowering you down, not to mention keep the rifle tight and close and in ready position during a typical fire n movement. no more 550 cord front site post hacks!! Thank Grf!! please make em darker thoug..light green? ..come on man! lol

    Great Sling

Despite the 4 stars I do like this sling. It is wide and thick so feels better and wears comfortably longer than lesser sling. It’s not quite like wearing a padded sling but I have found the downfall of padded sling they have a reduced sweet spot for wear since the padding can’t be very big and still retain adjustability. He material is thick and sewn well. Except for the one slide keeper between he 2-1 adapter and the slider, all the hardware is steel and (over) built like a tank. Why 4 stars instead of 5? While I do recommend and like this sling, these are a few things to keep in mind. The material plus this hardware makes the sling noticeably heavy. It is not like a brick but if you compare it to competitors similar models it is heavy. But again, the hardware is much more stout than the competitors’ models I have used or currently own. I do not really use 1-point slings so the good news is you can remove the conversion plate tail section and use it with a QD button as a standard 2-point or loop it on traditional carbine stock loops. The slider is also not as quick as I would like. It is great when letting out slack/loosening a slung rifle, but a little bit slower and as of now requires making the sling taut to take out slack/tighten the sling to your body. To be fair, other quick adjust slings also need this but the effort required on this sling is noticeably; perhaps due to the thickness of the material, contours of the slide or both. It does seem to be breaking in as I use it so it might just need use to smooth out. I do recommend the sling.

    Very unique sling

If you're in the market for a 2-1 convertible, this is likely the best. Most 2-1 slings have a small section where you insert the QD swivel, but the plate on this task much easier and ambidextrous friendly. The swivels themselves are great and the wider sling width means that a pad is less necessary. You generally won't find anything else with these features on the market. Only reason it's not five stars is that 1) The ranger green is quite lighter than most ranger green gear these days. 2) The quick adjust is not as intuitive as other slings. It's definitely more difficult when trying to tighten up the sling.

    Solid convertible sling

The custom metal buckles are cool for sure, they give me a feeling of durability where alot of slings on the market are just plastic. Webbing appears to be typical and durable. Time will tell as I have only been running it for a few months. Happy with the sling though.
